Dear Tenants and Friends,
We are trying to help find as many programs as possible that may help the small businesses we work with. Each business is different and all programs may not apply. Please reach out to your accountant or other professionals if you have business specific questions. So far, we’ve found the following:
1. SBA Covid-19 Disaster Loan: This is the Small Business Association’s program. There is a yellow banner across the top of the website. Click on it and follow the prompts. There are also other helpful tips for employers to help themselves and their employees cope and find assistance during this difficult time. This application only took a few minutes to complete – you need limited financial information for this application – your gross income and expenses for 12 months prior to 01/31/20.

2. Federal program through your business bank – CARES Act, Paycheck Protection Program & Financial Hardship: This federal program goes live on Friday, April 3, 2020 at 9 am. We’ve attached a handy SBA Cares Checklist so you can gather the information needed to fill out the online application. We’ve heard rumors that it may take up to 2 hours to complete the online application! Try to have all of the information ready so you can breeze through the questions more easily. Although the attached checklist has the PNC logo, the information is the same no matter what bank you belong to.
VISIT YOUR BANK’S WEBSITE – THERE SHOULD BE A BANNER SIMILAR TO THIS:
Coronavirus (COVID-19): CARES Act, Paycheck Protection Program and financial hardship. Find Out How We Can Help » (this is not a real link – look for a link on your bank’s website)
3. NJEDA Small Business Emergency Assistance Grant: This state program also goes live on Friday, April 3, 2020 at 9 am. Below is a link to the State’s site.
We are all struggling to learn about the different programs and it feels overwhelming to many. We do not have many answers (on behalf of the landlords) but we hope this information helps you navigate through a few of these programs a bit easier. Do not be discouraged if the sites go down or you can’t get online due to high traffic. Although many of these programs are on a first come, first served basis, there are rumors that additional opportunities will be available.
On behalf of the landlords we work with, we all wish you and your families (and your important work-families) good health. We’re all in this together.
Call us if you have any questions.
